Sandstone Falls, a breathtaking waterfall nestled in the Appalachian mountains of West Virginia, offers a serene and awe-inspiring experience for nature enthusiasts. The falls, accessible via a short trail from the parking area, can be reached with just a 5-10 minute walk. Though the drive from Princeton, West Virginia is around 55 minutes, the scenic route with two-lane roads adds to the overall charm of the journey. The sight of the falls is well worth the effort. A flat boardwalk provides easy access to multiple viewing points, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the beauty of Sandstone Falls. The falls may not be the largest, but their unique style and tranquil ambiance make them a memorable destination for waterfall lovers. Hidden away from the crowds, this hidden gem is a must-visit for those seeking solace in nature.

Long drive from Princeton West Virginia to this area. Around 55 minutes, but very scenic and two lane roads. But don't let that stop you. These falls are beautiful, nice boardwalk flat with several stops to view the falls.
Beautiful, serene falls surrounded by the Appalachian mountains on all sides. There is is a short trail from the parking, leading up to the waterfalls, which takes about 5-10 minutes of walking.
I just can't say how awesome this stop is, just do it. The drive is quite out of the way but so worth it. If you hike the boardwalk you can hear and see most falls but allow 20 min to scramble some rocks and get to the end of the island. Noone around and just serene to sit and listen. Please be mindful when hiking off the board walk there is lots of poison oak everywhere.
This was a hidden gem on our camping trip! This is a handicap accessible board walk to view the beaver marshes and waterfalls! A lot of facts and info on the way. We went down the stairs near the end of the board walk, headed to the beach and stood on the stone where the waterfall is. Be careful!! I do have to say the bathroom is kind of creepy because there is no light, non flushable toilet.
Bring binoculars to get a really good view :)
What a gem! Seriously, how do people not know all this beauty exists here in West Virginia?
One of my most favorite places to fish and site see. It's an absolutely beautiful place to visit in West Virginia
Gorgeous area!!! Must stop if you're in the area! Make sure to go off the Boardwalk for the best views
We love going to the falls! Fishing, camping, swimming, and my youngest can even bring his sand toys and play!
